What’s Old Is New Again

What’s Old Is New Again

We encounter millions of brand names every day. Iconic national brands like Coca-Cola, Pizza Hut, and Nike have stood the test of time-not just because of their products, but because of their consistency. You know what to expect: the same color scheme, the same font, the same tone. That familiarity breeds trust.

It’s All in the Name

Starting a company is never easy. It takes years of persistence, problem-solving, and patience to see meaningful results. One of the biggest challenges? Branding. How do you position your company to stand out in a crowded market? My dad, who spent years successfully selling Yellow Pages ads, once told me: Everyone starts with the A’s when they need something. That advice stuck with me.

When I started Advantage Marketing 11 years ago, I spent countless nights brainstorming, doodling in my notebook, and second-guessing every decision I made. What should I call it? Should I use my own name? Should I tie it to Wichita, Kansas-our hometown? And that was just when choosing a name. So with Dad’s advice in mind, I liked the idea of giving our clients an edge-an advantage-in their marketing strategy. The name made sense. It felt right.

Stand Out with Your Logo

A logo can make a brand stand out, that’s for sure. I asked a friend and client to help design the first one. I told him I wanted the focus on the “A.” He came back with several options, but the one that resonated most was bold and exaggerated. It had a space-like quality that immediately took me back to childhood, watching Star Trek, both the original and The Next Generation. I loved it.

Breathe New Life into Your Business with a Rebrand

Rebrands are one of the most exciting parts of agency life. Whether you’re starting fresh or refining an existing identity, it’s all about staying true to your mission, your audience, and how you’re perceived. Over the years, we’ve helped launch new brands and guided existing ones through meaningful refreshes-including our own.

If your brand feels tired or outdated, don’t be afraid to go back to the beginning. Honoring what once was, while staying relevant today, is a powerful way to connect with your audience and stand out. A refreshed brand doesn’t erase the past-it elevates it.

Focused on Your Business’s Future

From day one, we’ve focused on building relationships, not just campaigns. We go the extra mile-not because it’s easy, but because it works. Our high client retention rate speaks for itself. That long-game mindset, old-school work ethic, and personalized approach have consistently delivered-not just for our clients, but for us, too.

Because sometimes, what’s old is new again.

And if you aren’t sure where to start-come see us. We can help.
